What the crest means
The lion, ship, joined hands, bull, bear and the other ancestral symbols belong to distinct House shields. Preserve their original colors and cultural origins.

02 / The Second Divided Crown · 1920s–1940s
One inheritance. Two wartime colors.
The Reds rally to Fachelli; the Blues to Vespucci. Descendant families retain their symbols while taking the color of their wartime faction.
Where power comes from
Ports, credit, industry, distribution and information replace feudal land as sources of influence. The 1940 peace creates common governance without instantly erasing the families.
What the crest means
The 1935–1940 civil war turns the family seals Fachelli red or Vespucci blue. Luciani retains a neutral field as the impartial keeper and peace broker. These colors belong to this conflict, not the ancestral holds.

Crew marks beneath one Family seal
One mafia-style Family with seven inherited crew identities and increasingly focused responsibilities.
Where power comes from
Crew influence follows contribution, leadership and the needs of the chapter. No surname holds every office or dominates every era.
What the crest means
The common lion-led Family seal takes precedence. Smaller role marks identify work within the organization; ancestral shields remain in the archive.

A single durable crest replaces competing family marks. Seven subtle traces acknowledge the origin without dividing the survivors into seven sovereign identities.

One corporation, new divisions
A united space corporation headed by Vito Vespucci VII. Specialized crews begin to splinter around markets and operations beneath its common crest.
Where power comes from
Trade, production, cargo routes, protection and information create new concentrations of influence. Crews can develop competing interests without automatically becoming independent Houses.
What the crest means
The shared survival crest evolves into one corporate emblem. The seven legacy medallions recall its ancestry, not a fixed count of active crews. New crew marks are subordinate identifiers; the corporation retains the common crest.

SPACE / ESTABLISHED FUTURE DIRECTION
Vito Vespucci VII
Head of the Fachelli space corporation. One crest represents the corporation even as its crews develop different interests in the space markets.
Vespucci ancestral line → unrecorded intervening generations → Vito Vespucci VII. His parents, exact descent route, birth year and intervening names remain unrecorded. VII is part of his established name, not proof of seven biological generations or seven recorded officeholders.
The family tree keeps the ancestry even when surnames, marriages and shared culture blend. A later character’s working crew need not match an ancestral specialty. Preserve the approved founding line; a crew transfer does not rewrite genealogy.
Exact apocalypse events, losses, recovery dates, technology, the corporation’s formal charter and registered name, Vito’s biography, succession rules and individual crew splits remain to be developed.
